This white and red 1907 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost 4 passenger touring limousine is a one-off 1/2 scale replica ready to be shown in a museum or held in a private collection. The car has exquisite detail and was hand-made by a very talented retired engineer in the United Kingdom during the 1960's and 1970's. The car was replicated from the 1909 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost on display at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, Hampshire UK. It is about 8 foot in length. The car has 85.1 miles on the odometer. The body is hardwood overlaid with aluminum sheet metal like the actual car. The frame was fabricated from aluminum sheet into channel construction. The entire chassis including the 16" wooden wheels, suspension and steering are custom hand made. The front axle, drive train and differential are also hand-made. The radiator tank is made from nickel silver. All of the lights were hand-spun and are 12 volt energized. The brass windshield frame and all the controls and levers are custom fabricated. The Pratt oil tank is an exact reproduction part. The custom-made exact-copy interior is upholstered in red leather. The detail in the construction of this car is incredible. The car is powered by a direct-drive 12 volt electric motor powered by one 12 volt automotive battery. The inner side lever has forward, neutral and reverse. The outer side lever is the emergency brake. The right pedal is the accelerator. The center pedal operates the rear brakes. The left pedal is non-function and replicates the actual car clutch pedal. The radiator mascot is not correct for 1907. The wheels creak a little when being driven due to the dry Montana climate. They would likely tighten up in a more humid environment. There is a broken solder in a windshield joint and one Plexiglas windshield section is cracked. We are repairing the joint and replacing the Plexiglas. We have a new set of white tires that come with the car. The car was last driven by two young boys in the 2004 4th of July Parade in Ennis, Montana. The car goes 5-7 MPH and will go several miles on a charge. The car accommodates two children and is not large enough for an adult driver or passenger. Any serious private collector or museum would be wise to acquire this incredible 1907 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost 1/2 scale replica.
